วัวพระเจ้าโองการ เป็นสัญลักษณ์ของ พระพุทธมารดร มีลักษณะเป็น "วัวโทน" คือเป็นสัตว์ที่มีลักษณะเป็นจ่าฝูง ในฝูงหนึ่งจะมีจ่าฝูงเพียงหนึ่งเดียวเท่านั้น วัวเป็นสัตว์ที่มีอาณาเขตของมันมันจะหวงแหนและดูแลอาณาเขตของมันเป็นอย่างดีไม่ให้มีสิ่งใดเข้าเขตของมันได้แม้ต้องแลกด้วยชีวิตก็ตาม ด้วยคุณลักษณะอันสำคัญนี้โบราณจารย์ท่านจึงได้นำเอามาสร้างเป็นเครื่องรางในทางป้องกันสิ่งแปลกปลอมที่ชื่อว่า "วัวธนู"
